Over time, the wiring in a guitar can become damaged or degraded, leading to issues such as crackling, intermittent sound, or complete loss of signal. Rewiring can restore proper functionality and eliminate these issues. Loose or corroded connections can cause erratic behaviour or sound problems. Rewiring can fix these issues by ensuring all connections are secure and reliable. If components like pots (potentiometers), switches, or jacks are malfunctioning, rewiring provides an opportunity to replace them with new, high-quality parts.
